QUIET

I love the depth of quiet in the early morning.  You hear things that may not be noticeable at other times of day.  The thud of a q-tip as it hits the floor of the sink; the hum of a light bulb and the roar of air conditioners outside the sliding glass door.  Layer upon layer of sound presents itself as you listen to the quiet. Humming, buzzing, ticking, the source of which you just can’t seem to identify. In each moment another layer is added; wheels, horns and beeps until soon the quiet is buried in a cacophony of sound. The day has begun.
